Project Based Learning/The Apollo Experience
When I heard that the thinking skill for this project was synthesis, once synthesis was explained to me, my immediate thought was Apollo. Apollo in and of itself is synthesis. English, art, and social studies are three very different subject areas which you would not typically see fused together. So for my project, I synthesized everything that goes into Apollo such as the three subject areas as well as the processes used to create our projects.
Social Studies
For the social studies portion of my project 4, I researched some of the successes of colleges and schools (some from other countries) and compiled that information together to create my own college. I displayed the college I created in the form of a website.
English/Art
For both english and art, I created a combo piece. I created a video which explains what Apollo is, how synthesis plays into it, as well as student feedback on the program.
